Eric Van Dam is a Managing Director, Mergers and Acquisitions at TD Cowen. Eric Van Dam has over 13 years of investment banking, private equity, and hedge fund experience across a variety of industries including business services, consumer, energy, food, healthcare, industrial, media, retail, and telecommunications.

Before TD Cowen, Mr. Van Dam was vice president of Quarton International. Prior to joining Quarton, Mr. Van Dam was a hedge fund analyst at Kingdon Capital, a $2.5 billion long / short equity hedge fund, where he was responsible for researching and recommending new investment ideas in the consumer and retail industries. Prior to joining Kingdon Capital, Mr. Van Dam was a private equity associate at Vestar Capital Partners, a $3.7 billion private equity firm, where he worked on a variety of private equity transactions in the business services, consumer, energy, food, healthcare, and industrial industries. Prior to joining Vestar Capital Partners, Mr. Van Dam was an investment banking analyst at Lehman Brothers and Barclays Capital in the leveraged finance group, where he worked on a number of M&A, private equity, and recapitalization related financings in the energy, industrial, media, retail, and telecommunications industries.

Education

Mr. Van Dam graduated with honors from Michigan State University with a B.A. in Finance and holds an M.B.A. with high distinction from the University of Michigan, where he was a member of Beta Gamma Sigma. Mr. Van Dam is a licensed securities representative, holding his Series 63 and 79 registrations.
