Quarton International brand becomes Cowen, completing integration with full-service global financial services firm

● Two years after being acquired by global, full-services financial advisory firm Cowen Inc., Quarton International AG becomes Cowen Europe AG, leading advisor to European middle-market clients on mergers & acquisitions, private capital raising and debt capital raising as well as IPOs

● Extensive operational experience and networks in the Health Care and MedTech, Industrials & Robotics, TMT, Consumer and Business Services sectors reflect entrepreneurial roots of Cowen’s European investment banking team

Quarton International AG, a division of Cowen Inc., announced that it would now be known as Cowen, two years after its acquisition by the global, full-service financial services firm. The unification of the brand marks the full integration of Cowen’s highly experienced European middle-market advisory team into the firm’s cross-border investment banking and capital markets platform.

Leveraging a seamless global advisory network of more than 200 professionals across the U.S., Europe, and Asia, Cowen Advisory in Europe is now able to better support its numerous middle-market and fast-growing European and international clients with proven sector expertise in the Health Care & MedTech, Industrials & Robotics, TMT (Tech, Media, Telecommunications), Consumer and Business Services sectors, as well as providing access to strategic and financial investors around the globe. In Europe Cowen also advises on M&A, equity and debt financing, and IPOs for European medium-sized and growth companies and their entrepreneur, financial, and family office owners.

Commenting on this key milestone, Andreas Kinsky, Co-founder of Quarton International and Partner, Mergers and Acquisitions at Cowen, said: “At first as Blue Corporate Finance, then as Quarton International and now as Cowen, we have continued to build our team with a goal of improving the value we deliver for our clients. At Cowen we have found a home and colleagues who share our distinctive entrepreneurial spirit and corporate culture. Together, we are achieving greater reach and market presence, which directly benefits our clients.”

“Cowen’s rapid growth is driven by a commitment to dynamic companies that fuel the global economy. Through our 2018 acquisition of Quarton International, we significantly expanded our ability to serve growth companies and the middle market, especially the private equity and family office communities, with cross-border advisory services and access to public and private financing sources across the capital structure.  A unified global brand reflects not only the success of this partnership, but also our continued focus on solutions and ideas that meet the needs of our global client base,” added Larry Wieseneck, Co-President of Cowen and Company.

Quarton International was originally founded in 2001 by partners Andreas Kinsky, Jozsef Bugovics, and Jules Grüninger as Blue Corporate Finance. In 2015, the company merged with the U.S.-based financial advisory firm Quarton Partners to form Quarton International, a financial advisory company providing the global middle market with M&A advisory, private capital raising, and other corporate finance services. In 2018, Cowen Inc. acquired the company creating a true, cross-border advisory business.
